The north portion of Pinckney State Recreation Area is in Livingston County. This area surrounds the E.S. George Reserve on three sides and may offer some good birding opportunities if one is in the southwest corner of the county. LAKELANDS TRAIL STATE PARK cuts across the north side of the recreation area between Kelly and Cedar Lake roads and provides a nice trail to bird from as well as an access point to this portion of Pinckney State Recreation Area. The trailhead may be accessed from the carpool lot on D-19 just north of M36 in Pinckney.
