The western portion of Kensington Metro Park nature center resides within the county
with the remainder of the park being contained within Oakland County. The Livingston
portion of the park includes all of Wildwing Lake with its GREAT BLUE HERON and GREAT
EGRET Rookery as well as an Osprey hacking tower and recently nesting OSPREYS. This
area also hosts a trail around the lake that allows for both upland and marsh birding.
Check at the nature center office for recent sightings and be sure to add yours if
anything of interest is discovered. Note that the nature center itself and the nature
center parking area are in Oakland County. The north south trail just west of the parking
area marks the Livingston/Oakland County line.
