Mississippi Kite
Observed along Chilson road between Caroga Lake and Winans lake on April 13, 2008. The bird was last observed flying north, over the Brighton State Recreation Area.

Red-throated Loon
This bird was originally discovered on Portage Lake in Washtenaw County on April 2nd, 2007. The bird eventually made
its way into the Livingston County portion of Portage Lake.

Little Blue Heron
An immature (white) bird was discovered on August 16, 2006 in a retention pond on the south side of M-36
just west of Howlett road.

Chuck-wills-widow
This bird was heard calling on May 4, 2006 during a morning point count on private land. The observation was substantiated by
a second observer around dusk, but subsequent attempts to locate the bird later that evening and in the following
days were unsuccessful.
